My hobby my passion

I've always love baking and cooking. Maybe u can call me a foodie. I like testing new food and new recipe. However, i was never trained as a professional chef. I completed my degree in Bachelor of Mass communication at University Science Malaysia and upon graduation, I worked in a Corporate Communication department ( Public Relation and Event Management) for about 12 years before finding my way to home baking business.

After opting for a VSS in the company that I've worked for 8 years,i gladly developed my hobby and my passion in baking. So all said and done, a bit of research in that department and a very short courses in KL learning the technique of baking & creating a wedding cake and making sugar craft flowers, i plunge full time into this hobby of mine. It was a stunt that shocked my families, friends and even myself. A hidden passion that comes alive! That was in year 2005 and ever since that day I've never looked back or regret my decision. There were hard days and sleepless nights but so far my guardian angel helps pull things through. Now, here i am baking full time in the comfort of my home with homemade recipes and with the best and fresh ingredients that i can find here in my hometown.

Working at home does have it setbacks though, recognition came in slowly. The best solution during those early days was thru' words of mouth advertisement and yeah i rely lots on that. As time goes by, my confidence level also goes up. As the saying goes we never stop learning, so always updating myself with new things, products, creative techniques, marketing and advertisement opportunity, and most important, tips and advices from people all around us particularly in the same field. As a home baker, there is always a question of HALAL (esp in my home country), but as i put it when u believe and are sincere ( in this case home baking), we will not be afraid of showing it. Be kind and HONEST to your neighbours (customers) and give them the utmost respect and care they deserve.

When i first started baking, friends urge me to create my very own website or blogspot. It wasn't as if i am not keen. Its a matter of self analysing and reaching that goal. Here i am in another level of my career as a home baker. So Liz if u r reading this anytime, thank you sooo much for helping me in creating and starting this beautiful blogspot. Same goes to u Ranie. Both of u are my miracle angel( smile).

Let me now share some sample of wedding cakes, birthdays, engagements, hantaran, cupcakes and children' s cakes that i had created in my journey as a home baker.
