cakes for the little one

Pink Princess for 2 years old Lulu..a 2kg carrot Walnut Cheese cover in Fondant Icing. small flower for the waistline and a ribbon tied at the back. I used silver dragees for the glitter.

The Bug, the flowers and The Hearts....

Its 2 am and just finished decorating my cuppies. Its for a hantaran gift and triple engagement celebration on the 101010 for 3 beautiful couple..hmmm beautiful numbers on a beautiful Sunday!.. so here they are my cuppies which i called The Bug, The Flowers and The Hearts = LOVE...(:-)

Its Green...

A 13kg Butter fruit cake,3 tier square wedding cake with icing drape flowing around the cake. Another challenging design for me in my journey as a wedding cake creator(smile). I love baking and decorating this cake for such a lovely, no fuss couple Sylvrina and Jipanis. It simple yet elegant n chic looking cake. (hmm masuk bakul angkat sendiri)..haha... As usual the flowers are made from sugar paste and Sylvrina(the bride) chooses a green chrysanthemum & Jasmine flowers away from the traditional roses.

The 3 tier square shape was stack up in a zig zag position. Here i design the Fondant drape flowing down from top to bottom and on each tier adorned with the green chrysanthemum flowers. Finally a touch up with conelli design and sugar dragees using royal icing and nozzle tip no 1. A bit of tedious job in here but it was worth it. I just love it!

Decorating the top is the most interesting and challenging part. The bride wanted something different for her cake topper and so she selected a heart shape flower arrangement and i found it in one of the decor shop ! The topper (bride n groom) were then placed at the back of the heart shape flower as if they were looking thru a garden arch. To make it stand firm on top of the cake, i then glued it with royal icing and left it overnight to harden. Wala..there u have it the heart shape and bride n groom topper! A wedding cake design by the bride herself.!
Height of cake is 4in, width 14in(1st tier), 10in(2nd tier) and 8 in (3rd tier) square. It can cater for about 400 pax. Price of cake approximately RM690.


As for the table setting and decoration, we used artificial roses and hydrangea's flower. The champagne bucket is place inside the basket which was filled up with flowers. My nephew Aljay and cousin Vivian were responsible in decorating the table and i say they did a fabulous job!! Hmm lets just say they are now being booked for another wedding set up (smile)

It must be the Calla Lily....

3 tier round cake, height 4in, width 14in (1st tier), 10in (2nd tier) and 8in (3rd tier), it can cater to about 400pax and price at RM690 inclusive of design.

I made this wedding cake for my friend's daughter, Natalia. Both mom Liza (my friend) and daughter are nuts about calla lily that it was only appropriate to adorned it on the cake too. Since fresh flowers aren't easily available we resort to having artificial one that look fresh and natural. So flowers in hand and imported all the way from China as the wedding cake topper!!

The 3 tier 13kg Light Butter Fruit cake was covered in white Fondant icing and lace in conneli design touch up a bit with silver dragees. I used a 6in dummy as a stand instead of the normal pillar and i glue the stalk onto the dummy with royal icing. It looks like the Calla Lily was arrange as if it is inside the cake.

The cake however was a bit shaky when we were about to assemble it. Though i know it wouldn't fall i did sought help from the Pastry Chef whom willingly adjusted with royal icing! Once again, I had an encounter with my miracle angel that day..the pastry chef and so ever helpful Floor Manager and i whisper a thank you note to God....(smile).

This is the first time i design such a cake and i feel proud that its part of Nata's and Farid BIG Day!! Congratulations again to the bride and Groom whom tied the knot on 17th September 2010 during the akad nikah ceremony at the bride residence in Likas and a lunch reception on 18th September 2010 at Promenade hotel.

A 3 tier cake for Sylvester n Lydia whom tie the knot on 11th Sept 2010 at St.John's Church Tuaran. They wanted a simple wedding cake with a red roses. The flavor of the cake is Chocolate Moist cake with chocolate Ganache and covered in white fondant. If u notice there is the floral design on the white fondant. The height of each tier is about 4in, 1st tier is 14in, 2nd tier 10in and 3rd tier 8in. Flowers are made from gum paste. Cake price is about RM670.

Wedding, engagement,hantaran, anniversary

A Bit about Kayshotoven...
Kayshotoven is homemade style cake. we cater for all occassion, holidays, informal gatherings baby showers, Festivities, corporate events, special occasions e.g valentines and especially wedding.
It is such a pleasure and privilege to provide u with a beautifully designed and flavorful cake which i used the freshest ingredients and best quality i can find here in my hometown, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
My cakes are never pre baked or frozen. The icings, fillings and fondant are made from scratch and are all fresh especially cake like durian or Yam. I used the durian flesh and cooked to perfection. I do believe in quality.
To order at least 1 week before pick up date. However if its a seasonal occasion like Hari Raya, Christmas, Valentine, Mother's day or Father's Day, it would be good if order can be placed 3 weeks before.
Wedding cakes/ Hantaran/ Engagement/ Anniversary
All cake for wedding, Hantaran, Engagement and Anniversary will be covered in Fondant and decorated with gum paste flowers. You could use fresh flowers and artificial too!(smile) I would advice you to make a reservation as early as 2 months before the pick up date. As wedding cake are more personalised i would suggest for a consultation meeting to discuss on the details, taste the cakes and get to understand how the cake would look like( size, height and width or how much it can served your guests).

The consultations is merely to discuss and brainstorm on the taste of cakes, design, look thru d idea, wedding style, table deco which will all be incorporated with your wedding themes. You can bring your own photos, ideas, sample, color or anything you feel is important for the big day.
Deposit:
I would require a 50% deposit upon confirmation of the order.
Step 4.. Final meeting.. Should there be any changes on the said design.

June's wedding bliss


The cakes is charge on the flavors of cake, colors used, sugar, weight of the cake, material used n the design itself. For example the more design or work involved on a cake than the cost would be a little bit more expensive. A 2kg cake would cost approximately RM180. Some of the cake adornment may be rent out and customers will have to pay an amount of deposit upon confirmation of order. A 3 tier cake normally will cater for aproximately 350 pax. Cake flavor that i normally used are butter base such as Butter cake, Butter walnut, Butter Mix Fruit, carrot walnut Cheese, Chocolate Moist with ganache and Rich Fruit Cake. The recipes are home made recipes and freshly baked. Cake for wedding, anniversary, engagement and hantaran all covered in Fondant n Royal Icing. Each cake is individually designed with the greatest care and attention to detail whether it is a 3 tier cake or cupcakes.

There is also additional charge for table setting and the cost is also calculated on material used. Delivery service is charge on the distance of venue.

May and Aldrin 3 tier lilac tie and silver dragees with a satin purple ribbon. Its a Chocolate Moist with Ganache and covered in Fondant icing. The design was taken from the Martha Stewart wedding collection and modified a lil bit by May.


Leona and Pritchard 2 tier wedding cake in soft yellow rose flowers, conneli and silver dragees.



Anniversary cake for Eugene n Danni..This is a 3kg carrot walnut cheese cake and decorated with soft pink roses made from gum paste and covered in Fondant icing.


3 tier butter cake with silver and gold trimming. The whole cake is covered in conneli design and silver dragees with gold ribbon. The white rose are made from gum paste.


Kay's cake - decorated in marooned velvet rose (artificial flowers) and covered in Fondant icing and conneli design.
